That's what Idaho is known for throughout the nation: potatoes.....
So naturally any proper Idaho girl carries around a clutch that represents her state:
A clutch made out of a potato sack!!
Here we have spud-harvest, spud festival, spud fields, spud cellars, etc. etc.
Not many schools have the spud-harvest break anymore, as parents want the summers to be longer, and not as many children are needed in the fields during harvest.
After all: the labor laws make it illegal to hire anyone younger than 16.
However, spud-harvest (the break from school)
is still honored at the schools in the more rural areas.

Unfortunately I did not follow a pattern or take notes.
I just started sewing and came up with this.
I think it's pretty cute;

And don't worry: sewing pockets with zippers is not as scary as it sounds!
